Happy New Year!
January 2009 Menu is up!
Hello Parents
Welcome to "Back to School" at
Myy Hot Lunch
We serve nutritious fruits and vegetables everyday with every
lunch. For every child we serve. Please check out our new
Food Safety page--its list some
critical information on how we work to achieve safe and nutritious
foods for your children.
According to the latest government statistics like those on the Five a Day site,
only one in five children eats the minimum daily recommendation of
three servings of vegetables and two servings of fruit each day.
Good Friends & Company, providers of MYY Hot Lunch, continues to prepare
and deliver hot lunches for the children of select private schools in
the Coachella Valley—as we have for fourteen continuous years!
This year our lunches became the first and only nutritionally certified
by the NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children,
through Bermuda Dunes Learning Center .
It is our aim to provide your children with good, nutritious food prepared
with the best food safety practices and in compliance with the various
State and County agencies governing commercial kitchens—as parents you
may be assured, each day, of this.
A note on the MENU: Each month our menu strives to reflect good
nutrition and taste for your child. It is not some silly idea to promote
fads of the moment, but there is some fun involved. It varies each day
and through the month, but not much. Why? Because the children will
eat some foods and not even try others. We change 3 or 4 menu items
each month, maybe. If we succeed with the changes we try the item a
few more times. If that is successful then we tend to keep it as a regular.
Like you, we want your child to eat well!
91%
That's the current number of American's who do not eat 5 to 9 servings of fruit and vegetables each day, according to the USDA. (and, yes,
french fries are considered a serving and ketchup is still considered a serving by our government)
Note: One soda a day leads to an 80% increase in getting
diabetes!
We appreciate the continuing opportunity of being of
service to you and your children.
